Ayon sa Department of Information and Communications Technology o DICT, hindi lang sa Pilipinas tumataas ang mga hacking incident. Problema raw sa buong mundo ang pagdami ng digital crimes o cybercrimes.

Aminado naman ang DICT na mas mababa sa average ang cybersecurity posture sa bansa. Nitong February 2024, inaprubahan na ni Pangulong Bongbong Marcos ang National Cybersecurity Plan na inaasahang magpapalakas sa cybersecurity sa bansa.
