During the GMA Gala 2024, held at the Grand Ballroom of the Manila Marriott Hotel on July 20, 2024, Filipino model and beauty queen Herlene Budol was wearing a sheer nude diamond-encrusted mermaid-cut gown designed by Leo Almodal that had a white frilly hemline, entitled /”The Birth of Venus/” and inspired by Sandro Botticelli’s painting, which /”depicts the goddess Venus arriving at the shore after her birth, when she had emerged from the sea fully-grown/”. However, her supposed-to-be-perfect shining moment at the gala was marred by the fact that she could not properly walk because of all the fabric at the bottom, paired with very high heels… so she tripped repeatedly and ended up completely falling down on stage!
